Youssou N'Dour is a famous singer from Sengal in Africa. Here is one of his videos:




Youssou N’Dour was born on the 1st of October, 1959. He is also a talented song writer and composer, in addition to his singing abilities. Some also argue that he is one of the most famous singers to come out of Senegal. He becamse famous reshaping a style of  music known in the Serer language as mbalax, which is a popular style in Senegal. Youssou N’Dour was the Senegalese cultural ambassador at a point and he was even appointed as the tourism and culture minister by Prime Minister Abdoul Mbaye. Youssou N’Dour also owns a media house with radio and TV stations. He is perhaps one of the richest musicians in Senegal.

Zahara is a famous singer from Eastern Cape. Here is one of her songs:




Her original name was Bulelwa Mkutukana. She originally grew up on the outskirts of East London, Eastern Cape. However, her family was poor. Zahara grew up with 5 siblings and her mother was a poor worker. Zahara started learning how to sing in choir at six years of age she later joined a more advanced choir. In addition, she can also play the guitar, which many women around her village couldn't do at the time. Zahara became famous when her debut album went platinum and then double platinum.
